Who we are

G2 Home Services ("we", "us") is a family-run handyman business based in Coquitlam, British Columbia. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and in the course of our work, in line with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

• Information you give us: your name, phone number, email address, the address where the work is needed, a description of the job, and any photos you send.
• Job records: estimates, invoices, payment records and notes about the work we did, which we need for warranty and tax purposes.
• Messages: calls, texts and emails between you and us.
• Basic technical data: like most websites, our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) to keep the site secure and working.

How we use it

• To answer your questions and prepare written estimates.
• To schedule, carry out and follow up on your job, including our workmanship guarantee.
• To send invoices and keep business, warranty and tax records.
• To meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your consent

By contacting us or using our services, you consent to us collecting and using your information for the purposes above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, although we may need to keep some records where the law requires it.

Who we share it with

We only share your information when it is needed to do your job or required by law:

• Licensed trades (for example a plumber or electrician) we bring in for your job, with your knowledge.
• Service providers who help us run the business, such as our email, phone, form and accounting services, who may only use it to provide their service to us.
• Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose it.

Cookies and third-party services on this website

This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If you dismiss our cookie notice, we remember that choice in your own browser's local storage so it doesn't show again; that preference never leaves your device.

To work properly, some parts of the site load from trusted third-party services, which receive your IP address and basic browser information when they do:

• Google Fonts, for the site's typefaces.
• OpenStreetMap and cdnjs (Cloudflare), for the service-area map.
• Formspree, which delivers the estimate form to our email. It receives what you type into the form.
• Facebook and Instagram, only if you click our social media links; their own privacy policies apply once you leave our site.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep job records for as long as we need them for warranty and tax purposes, generally at least six years, which is how long the Canada Revenue Agency requires business records to be kept. Enquiries that don't turn into a job are deleted when we no longer need them.

How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including password-protected devices and accounts, and limiting access to the people who need it to do your job.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. We will respond within the time PIPA allows (generally 30 business days).

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
